It all begin in a small town called La Barca in Jalisco, Mexico in 1970 when Elena Jimenez was born. From an early age, she had an affinity for glitter and glamour, often found her Mother unearthing sand treasures and polishing them to be able to wear them. At age four, her family moved to Montebello, California with the same hope many immigrants have for their families, to give their children the opportunity to explore their passions and be anything they wanted to be. Elena Jimenez always knew diamonds were her fervor.

The opportunity presented itself during a summer in highs school with a coveted summer job at Citi Jewels. After successfully finishing high school she enrolled in the Gemological Institute of America (G.I.A.) where she further learned the tricks of the trade in an industry she venerated. She immersed herself in gem studies, often spending her days in the famous jewelry district of Downtown LA studying current trends and workmanship. Her passion for diamonds continued to increase day after day. She landed a position with R Zack Jewelry, a renowned jewelry house in Beverly Hills, which gave her the opportunity to work with a very demanding celebrity clientele.

Without realizing how, she was not only selling, but designing pieces for the store exclusive clients who included George Clooney, Bruce Springsteen, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Hanks and many other famous names. The clients lover her. She elevated their vision and brought it to life in an unexpected and brilliant way that had them clamoring for more. "Being able to translate the client's idea and integrate it with my vision was key" says Jimenez. "They'd come back time after time, always leaving satisfied. Perfection is kinds of an obsession for me. I wanted to make them happy and I enjoyed the entire process: imagining the pieces, drafting the idea on paper, selecting the right material, setting it in wax and subsequently in metal and seeing the final product, not only come to life, but rise above my client's expectation. That was and still is my biggest accomplishment. I live for those moments."

In 2005, the buzz amounted and Elena decided to set off on her own. Working closely with NFL, MLB, and NBA players, it was the close relationship with baseball hero Adrian Beltre that propelled her towards opening what is today EJ Diamonds.

Three short years later, Elena Jimenez has emerged as the most sought after celebrity diamond designer. She refused to mass produce the line, opting instead for exclusive one-on-one meeting with clients which leaver her appointment book filled months in advance. "My vision for EJ Diamonds was always for clients to be able to have something that was unique and that they wouldn't be able to find anywhere else" states Elena, "I feel that the process of creating a piece is so personal, that duplicating it will, in a way, expunge the magic."
